Collecting Music NFTs
Turns out collecting Music NFTs is fun.
There’s a growing community warming up to the idea of Music NFTs - and with that, a new conversation being had around what to collect, and where.
And he’s not alone!
The Music NFT community simply wouldn’t be where we are today without Catalog.
Catalog enjoyed its first official birthday this week, marking one year since the launch of the premier 1/1 platform.
I’m a big collector on Catalog, and the community was quick to share its sentiment for the impact it’s had on changing the lives of many up and coming artists.
Most of the Music NFT action took place at SXSW this weekend, with events from Sound, Catalog, Royal, Zora, FLUF World, Doodles, Friends with Benefits, unf0ld and a host of others.
If one thing is for certain, the movement is growing by the day.

Artist Spotlight: Matthew Chaim
Matthew Chaim is an artist and community builder. He was one of the first to release Music NFTs as 1/1s on Zora, and one of the first on Catalog, and most recently Sound.
He’s pioneered the space as an artist and is even more impactful as a community builder. He founded and leads SongCamp - a community of 100+ artists at the cross-section of music and crypto that’s lead to several innovative Music NFT projects like Elektra and now Chaos. SongCamp has supported dozens of Music NFT pioneers and is a staple in the web3 community.
